According to Lady Trout, it's National Delurking Day!
I had forgotten/didn't know; I better hurry and break out the Delurking deocrations, play traditional Delurking games, and listen to all of my favorite Delurking music.
I know I have a few regular readers - via Google Analytics I know there are a fairly good number of regular hits to blogspot version of the blog - plus at this time there are 4 subscribers to the blogspot version of my blog, and 6 to the MySpace copy of it.
So, if you are one of my anonymous readers, please feel free to comment here and say "hi" - or not, if you prefer to remain anonymous. If you don't feel like commenting but want me know who you are, you can send me email!

I won't bore you w/my tedious thoughts about this lurking brouhaha - I just did that over at Trout Towers. However...
1) There's a new gold CD from Mobile Fidelity of Sinatra's Only The Lonely album that I understand sounds really good; expensive, granted, but this is a classic all the way around (Nelson Riddle is one of my heroes).
2) Just picked up the new complete Duckman DVD set. In the Special Features documentary Dweezil is conspicuous by his absence. I had wondered (perhaps unfairly) if the holdup w/this series coming to DVD was the Widow Zappa's tight fist. Any clues or thoughts?

MJ ... did you play me a few cuts from that album on one of our long drives? I'll be sure to check it out. I think I'm a bit more partial to Billy May than Nelson Riddle, but that just might be because of the former's work with Stan Freberg. Nelson is definitely one of the great arrangers, to be sure.
I haven't heard any poop about Duckman being held up by the Zappa Family Trust.
I'm pretty sure the cuts we heard were "I Get Along Without You Very Well" (from the In The Wee Small Hours album - another classic side) & "Laura" (from somewhere else). Both w/exquisite charts by Nelson Riddle. Billy May got a great sound & groove on the more uptempo & swinging tunes, but for the ballads I thought Nelson was the guy for Frank.
As for the Duckman deal, it was a false assumption on my part, apparently. Maybe it was just my disappointment at not having Dweezil talk about Ajax, my favorite character on the show.
What the hell is Dweezil up to these days, anyway?
